Obligatory Geese

Can’t have a Canadian bird blog without —

Goose morning!

Goose morning!

Goose morning to you, too.

Look at all these geese!

Look at all these geese!

Oh, dear; a goose collision.

Oh, dear; a goose collision.

Hang on; that’s not a goose —

Augh! They're everywhere!

Augh! They’re everywhere!

It’s a lovely day, today, the first in ages. Sun’s up, birds are out in force — so far, I’ve seen buffleheads, starlings, flickers, sparrows, crows, geese, and three flavours of gull (California, herring, and glaucous-winged). I’m hoping to spot some more, before the light fails.

Not a Bird

Woke up early; watched the moon set.

Woke up early; watched the moon set.

I hadn't seen the moon in a while, what with the nights being as overcast as the days, and all.

I hadn’t seen the moon in a while, with the nights being as overcast as the days.

Soon, the moon approached the horizon, and faded into the sky. I hoped some birds might happen by, so I could snap them flying in front of it, but none did. Or rather, there were birds, but they didn't line themselves up quite right. Most inconsiderate.
