Again, gulls? Really?

WHAT ARE THESE WORTHLESS PACKBAWKIES DOING? IS THAT A NEST? THAT HAD BETTER NOT BE A NEST! THIS AREA HAS MET ITS GULL QUOTA; FURTHER GULLS WILL BE RETURNED TO SENDER!

Is that bird digging? Stop digging, bird! That's how gulls make their nests: they dig little hollows in the dirt, and pile up rubbish all around, and then they lay their eggs.

(In all seriousness, if that is a nest being built, I wish the gulls better luck than they had last year. They built a nest in exactly the same spot, and a workman came and took the eggs away. Twice. The gulls were distraught. It was a shame.)

Testing the comfort of its new digs?

NB: I did not approach the possible nest, or disturb the gulls, in order to take pictures. That’s the roof of a neighbouring building, and quite distant from my balcony.
